COMMUNITY ARTS

Nikki has worked in community arts for over 20 years. In Sydney she was part of a team of people who brought the Sea Theatre Festival to the coastal walk between Bondi Beach and Bronte. In Melbourne, Nikki was involved with a festival called Kosher Culture, on the streets of East St Kilda.

In WA Nikki established the Gondwana Youth Arts Project, engaging young people in the natural environment with professional artists, ecologists and local elders. Running since 2009, this project is about building awareness of our rich natural environment through connection to self, to community and to country.

Nikki has also been involved with numerous community collaborations in the south west of WA including East of Us in 2009 and North of Us in 2010

RESIDENCIES

Nikki enjoys the opportunity to travel for research,  inspiration, collaboration and connection. Living in a remote part of the world, it is important for her art practise to widen her horizons artistically and culturally. Collaborating with artists and communities across Australia and abroad, Nikki has made and continues to make lasting connections with individuals and communities all over the world.
